Incorporated in 1917 Brea is one of the oldest communities in Orange County.  Originally established as an oil producer, Olinda Village in Brea's rolling hills continued to grow. Today, it is a bustling, but close-knit community of approximately 40,000 residents.

Brea is a “full service city,” providing a wide range of services including police and fire protection, water and sanitation services, construction and maintenance of streets and infrastructure, recreational, human services, and the cultural arts, as well as a proactive communication and community outreach program. Brea also supports an outstanding Brea Olinda Unified School District including campuses recognized as California Distinguished Schools and a National Blue Ribbon high school.  Community involvement and feedback are most important to city leaders.

Some of the great entertainment in the down town area include; The Brea Improv, The Yard House, Taps, Total Wine, Buffalo Wild Wings and the world famous Farrell's Ice Cream just to name a few.
